Assignment 30A- Final Reflection
Final Reflection
I think my most informative experience was being able to commit to one topic for the entire semester. I do not think that there was enough emphasis that you needed to pick a well thought out idea beforehand. I almost freaked out after the first few assignments because I do not think I took it as seriously as I was supposed to. When I realized I would be using one idea for the whole semester, I had to start from scratch.
·
I think a general experience that I will remember is getting
comfortable with interviewing people. I now know how to pick my questions to
get all the information I need.
·
My most joyous experience would be at the end of the weeks when I
got to see that all the hard work I was doing was contributing to my end goal.
I liked how there were numbered assignments so I could really see my progress.
·
I think I am most proud of sticking with this venture. I know we
did not have an option to change the venture, however, there were definitely
times where I got overwhelmed and wanted to just not do an assignment. I am
proud that I was successfully able to complete all 30 assignments.
·
I definitely would not call myself an entrepreneur, but I do know
what it would take to push myself to become an entrepreneur and what skills
they need. I think I a better at taking risks and accepting ay failures now
than I was before. I also think I improved on fully evaluating a situation and
paying attention to details.
·
If you take one piece of my advice, make sure you pick a venture
you are interested in a feel that you can expand upon. When the first
assignment to brainstorm is given, take as much time as you can to fully
explore all of your options. You will think yourself the whole semester if you
put in the extra work on the first few assignments.
·
I’m sure every post will have this, but in order to succeed, you
need to manage your time. I would recommend starting on Monday and doing one
assignment a day, and leaving two days for assignments that require in-depth
interviews
·
I would keep a positive and open mindset. You will have to think
out of the box and think of all the possibilities. Take the feedback as a
learning tool, not as a criticism.
Hi Mady!
ReplyDeleteI completely relate with your experience and advice. This class entails a lot of assignments that require you go into detail about one specific business concept. If you are not passionate about this venture, or don't think you can elaborate on it, you might want to think of something else. As you mentioned, managing your time is also crucial for success in this class.
Hi Mady,
ReplyDeleteAll of this advice would have been super helpful for me in the beginning of this class. I didn't think about it until now, but learning how to get comfortable with interviewing people is a huge skill I can take away from this class. I always dreaded the assignments that involved doing multiple interviews with people, but those assignments almost always ended up being the ones that had the biggest impact on shaping my idea and pushing the concept forward.
I must admit I never read ahead to see that all of these assignments would be linked. This served to be challenging at times, but I think I made the best of it! I noticed you were more comfortable in front of the camera and as your idea developed I could see that you began to believe more in your product. It was great working with you and I wish you luck in your future endeavors!
